Sister, let’s talk about your temple.
Not a building made with hands, but your body – crafted by the Master Creator Himself. It’s more than muscle, bones, and breath. It’s a dwelling place for the Holy Spirit. That means what we put in our bodies matters. Not just for how we look in the mirror, but for how we live, think, love, serve, and show up in the world.
The Power of Eating with Intention
For over 20 years, I’ve been on a journey of eating with intention, and let me tell you, it’s been eye-opening, healing, and life-giving. When I first went gluten-free, I wasn’t just changing my plate; I was changing my perspective. I started listening to what my body was really saying and discovered that food could either be a source of energy or a silent saboteur.
Designed Differently…Nourished Uniquely
One of the tools that shifted everything for me was the book Eat Right for Your Type. It revealed something powerful: just like no two fingerprints are alike, no two bodies thrive on the exact same foods. By learning about my blood type, I uncovered which foods:
- Gave me fuel and fire
- Left me sluggish or inflamed
- Did nothing at all—and wasted space on my plate
It was the start of a beautiful partnership with my body, one that continues to teach me grace, discipline, and discernment.
Why I Juice, And Why You Might Want To
Juicing isn’t a fad for me, it’s a faith-filled act of care. When I juice, I’m pressing out nutrients that God packed into fruits and vegetables with purpose. These vibrant liquids have helped me:
- Reduce inflammation
- Cleanse and reset
- Feel lighter in my spirit and sharper in my mind
Here’s one of my favorites, especially when I feel like my body needs a little extra love:
Inflammation-Fighter Juice
🧃 Ingredients:
- 2 carrots
- 1 green apple
- 1-inch ginger root
- ½ beetroot
- ½ lemon
- Pinch of Ceylon cinnamon
- Tiny dash of cayenne pepper
What it does:
- Cinnamon fights inflammation
- Cayenne kicks up your metabolism
- Ginger soothes digestion
- Beetroot supports your heart
It’s like a wellness revival in a glass!
It’s Not Just About Food
Let’s go deeper. The way we eat affects more than digestion. It can:
- Sharpen our thinking
- Help regulate our emotions
- Give us patience in conversations
- Open our hearts to God’s whispers
Our wellness is holistic—body, mind, and spirit are always talking to each other.
A Word to Reflect On
Proverbs 25:16 says, “If you find honey, eat just enough, too much of it, and you will vomit.”
That’s wisdom. Balance matters. Whether it’s juice, honey, or how many plates we pile high, God invites us into a life of stewardship, not restriction.
The Sacred Reset: Juice Fasting
I don’t fast to fit into clothes. I fast to reconnect with the Lord and reset my system. Juice fasting, when done prayerfully and with guidance, has helped me:
- Reset my metabolism
- Heal on a cellular level
- Clear out mental fog
- Reignite my hunger for the things of God
